Born in 1943 at Monywa near Mandalay and studied at Mandalay Fine Arts School from 1961 to 1964. His early art teachers were U Kan Nyunt, U Aye Kyaw, U Chit Mye and U Lu Tin.
1965 - 79 :Art master at the Command and General Staff College, Defence Ministry.
1980 - 95: served at War Museum and Defence Service Historical Research Institute.
He is a well known watercolourist and active member of Insight Watercolour Community.
