Born in 1953, the second child among six children and studied at No(1) state High School in Pakokku. He has a deep craving for art since childhood and learned under the mastership of U Thaung Nyunt, U Tun Shein and U Ba Kyi. He started his career as illustrator since 1980.
Most of his works seem much influenced by Buddhism and traditional art and culture. One of his significant illustrations is Ten Jatakas of Lord Buddha books from 1990 to 1995. Still many of his works can be seen today in religious magazines and other periodicals published in Myanmar.
He has participated in more than 30 art exhibitions collaborating with other fellow artists.
In 1998 at Lokanat Gallery was his first solo show and second in 2004.
